Shiflett Family Dental

Current Appointment Procedures

The COVID-19 pandemic has certainly made life difficult for all of us. Many businesses were asked to shut down in order to stop the spread of the virus. Hard-working citizens and community members have been out of work and unable to have close interactions with friends and loved ones. With the availability of the COVID-19 vaccinations and the decreasing number of cases, though, we are beginning to see life return to normal.

The entire team at Shiflett Family Dental has been working hard during the pandemic to keep everyone healthy and safe. We have been following CDC, ADA, OSHA, and Ohio State Dental Board recommendations carefully and adjusted our protocols accordingly. Although we have always made infection control a top priority, we had added additional measures to keep our valued patients and staff safe.

New Procedures and Safeguards Implemented

Below you will find a list of several of the new procedures and safeguards we have implemented. We will continue these as long as necessary to battle the coronavirus along with the dental disease.

  • Our Doctor and hygiene staff have received the COIVD-19 vaccine in hopes to lower our chance of exposure and helping keep our patients safe during their visit.
  • When you arrive for your appointment, we ask that you remain in your vehicle and give us a call at (614)262-1807. We will then return your call as soon as your room is clean and ready, limiting your contact with others in common areas.
  • Plexiglass shields, or “sneeze guards” have been placed at the check-in and check-out areas for added staff and patient protection.
  • Hand sanitizer is available at the reception areas and multiple sinks are available in the back for hand washing. We ask that patients use the hand sanitizer upon entry and exit of the office.
  • Appointment times have increased and appointment frequency has decreased to allow for proper cleaning and distance between patients.
  • Staff is equipped with the best protective equipment available in accordance with CDC, ADA, OSHA, and OSDB recommendations. Each member is trained in strict infection control policies.
